Henry Ford Hospital is a unique educational institution; it is not directly connected to a medical school, yet exceeds most university hospitals in clinical load, resident and fellow teaching activity, and research funding.

Each year we offer training in over 40 ACGME approved programs to over 700 residents and fellows, and at least 300 third and fourth year medical students from multiple affiliated medical schools, including Wayne State University, Case Western Reserve University, The University of Michigan, Medical College of Ohio and the University of Illinois-Chicago rotate on our campus annually.

Henry Ford Health System provides a superb environment for surgical resident training because of the multiple populations it serves, and the breadth of experience these populations provide.
